Grand Seal Sealed Fireplace Door

The Grand Seal by Wilkening Fireplace — a custom fireplace door for masonry fireplaces. Made in Walker, Minnesota. Measured, quoted and installed by A Fireplace Store and More.

Description

The Grand Seal is Wilkening’s heaviest sealed door, with angle-iron swing sections that carry a gasket around every glass panel and a second gasket that seals the frame against the face of the masonry fireplace. Wilkening says it has been shown to prevent back-smoking at negative house pressures down to -25 Pa, so a traditional open wood-burning fireplace can still be used in tightly built homes. It ships with ceramic glass and wood handles as standard, and can be dressed with Ancient Iron trim or Prairie-style doors in rectangular or arched frames. The same door appears on a legacy page of the site under its earlier name, Ultimate Seal.

Sizing

Custom built to the measured fireplace opening (top width, bottom width, left and right heights, lintel height, arch center height); Rectangular or arched frames; template of the opening required for arched doors and inside-fit frames; Masonry fireplaces only
