Board Filler Kit

Description

A set of cast concrete barn boards sized to fill the wall area inside a Post & Beam or 3-piece surround, so the field behind the firebox reads as stacked reclaimed planks rather than bare drywall or tile. The kit mixes long horizontal boards with short vertical fillers and the thickness is deliberately varied for a hand-stacked look. It is thinset over cement board and cut with a diamond blade.

Sizes

Two kits, both current: the 78″ kit (four boards 78″ W × 1″ H × 6-1/2″ D plus twelve fillers 12″ W × 1″ H × 5″ D) and the 62″ kit (four boards 62″ W × 6-1/2″ tall plus twelve fillers 11-7/8″ W × 5-1/2″ tall), both on the maker’s current product page. The thickness of every board varies from 7/8″ to 1-3/8″ by design; dimensions may vary ± 3/16″.

About the maker

Magra Hearth — a Wisconsin maker of lightweight cast-concrete mantels, hearths and boards that look like reclaimed timber or chiseled stone but are non-combustible (ASTM E136), so they can sit closer to the fire than wood. Every piece is hand finished, so no two are exactly alike.
