Farmhouse Rustic Mantel

Description

The biggest beam in the line — a ten-by-ten hewn timber, recreated in non-combustible Burncrete™ so it can hang over a gas or wood fireplace with a television above it. Inspired by the log homes of Kentucky’s first settlers; cast hollow so it hangs on a bracket without special tools.

Sizes

10 in x 10 in end profile; 72 in (about 205 lb) or 84 in (about 235 lb); custom lengths between and below on request

Options and details

Molded from an old-growth hand-hewn timber salvaged in central Kentucky: wood grain, checks, cracks and axe marks in the casting. The largest beam mantel the maker builds, with a heavy-duty mounting bracket supplied. Maduro, Pale Honey, Eclipse (black), Weathered Grey, Roasted Chestnut — hand-painted; custom colours matched from the maker’s 150-colour library

About the maker

Lexington Hearth — a Lexington, Kentucky maker of fireplace mantels. Its non-combustible pieces are cast in a proprietary Burncrete™ formulation from moulds taken off historic Kentucky barn timbers and local stone, hollow-cored so two people can hang them, and hand-painted in a multi-step finish. Sold through dealers; we are one of them.

Plan it with us

A mantel is sized to your fireplace and its clearances, then installed by the same team that measured it. A non-combustible mantel can sit closer to the opening than wood; a wood mantel keeps the distance your fireplace’s manual asks for. Bring the width and height of the opening and a photo of the wall, or book a showroom visit in Downers Grove and see the finish samples first.
